Best Buys In the Park City
& Deer Valley Area

By The Ski News Team

McHenry's

Fall is a great time to enjoy cooler temperatures in the mountains before the snow starts flying. With Deer Valley's super popular mountain biking terrain, many of you may be headed their direction to play. So where do you eat lunch? We highly recommend McHenry's restaurant at Deer Valley. You can put a $10 bill in your pocket and have one of the best lunches you've had in a long time. Bring $15 dollars, order 2 items and you will feel like royalty! The pizzas are made with fresh pesto, roma tomatoes, mozzarella and provolone. The Arts Festival pizza has flavorful Italian sausage, caramelized onions and green peppers for $8.50. For the same price, try a portobello mushroom and vegetable pizza with grilled eggplant and leeks. We were even more impressed with the appetizers. Get a couple of these and you'll be eating some of the tastiest morsels you've ever experienced! The buffalo Quail legs are so spicy and so good; we'll never forget them. In fact we still talk about them weeks after sampling. The Dungeness crab cakes and Parmesan baked pita chips with hummus are also just fabulous. It is amazing how Deer Valley can take something as simple as a Quesadilla and make it so great. It is served with turkey, avocado salsa and cilantro sour cream for $7.50. On top of all the taste, these gourmet goodies are healthy. Vegetarian, no-fat and low-fat options are available.

Bangkok Thai, Park City Main Street

A very affordable lunch that is out of this world with flavor is at the Bangkok Thai restaurant toward the bottom of Main Street. We have eaten here several times and always had great food but we really wanted to highlight one curry dish in particular for our Restaurant Review section. The dish is made with red curry called Panang Curry. For $12.99 you get homemade medium Panang Curry with Coconut Milk, Thai Basil, Kaffir Lime Leaf and great vegetables. You can order this meal with chicken, pork, beef or vegetarian. The Thai Basil is so good, once you try it you will want to fly to Thailand to buy this basil for your garden.
